Self-serve WiFi onboarding lets users connect to WiFi on their own, without IT involvement. A user registers through the WiFi portal, is verified against an identity provider, confirms via email, and is granted access automatically — each on a unique PPSK. It removes manual setup and support tickets, so residents or employees get online quickly and securely from day one.
There are three steps. First, passwordless registration: the user signs up through the WiFi portal without managing complex passwords. Second, identity check: the platform validates the user against the reference identity provider and sends an email verification link. Third, instant access: once verified, WiFi is provisioned automatically on a unique PPSK and access is granted immediately.
An identity provider (IdP), such as Microsoft Entra ID or Google, manages user identities and permissions. Integrating one lets Cloud4Wi automatically provision WiFi only for authorized users and revoke it when they're deactivated — no manual list-keeping. It also enables single sign-on, so users authenticate with credentials they already have, making onboarding faster and access control accurate.
Lifecycle management is automatic. When a user is deactivated in the integrated identity provider — an employee offboarded or a resident moved out — their WiFi service is terminated automatically, with no manual step. This closes the common security gap of stale credentials lingering after someone leaves, keeping access aligned with your source of truth at all times.
